Family Ties

Jemima, Plato, Victoria, Rumpelteazer, and Mistoffelees sat lazily on a tire. Each one seemed to be engrossed in their own thoughts, until Plato spoke up.
"I wonder what my family was like..." he said
All four cats turned their heads towards Plato.
"WHAT?!?!" Jemima asked
"Jem, I was just thinking about what my family was like....I don't remember much
about my childhood." Plato said
"That's a pretty good point, Plato," spoke up Victoria "I'm a bit interested in my family history, too."
Mistoffelees thought for a moment.
"You know," he said "you could go see Jennyanydots. She keeps track of everyone's family records."
Plato shrugged "Why not?"
Victoria and Plato slid off the tire with Misto, Teazer, and Jemima close behind. Finally, they reached the trunk.
"Hello, what can I do for you?" Jennyanydots asked.
"Hi Jenny," Victoria said "Plato and I just wanted to take a look at our family
histories. We're both kind of curious."
Jenny shrugged. "Sure, just wait a sec." She crawled into her trunk and thumbed
through some folders. "Here you are!" she said, wandering back into her trunk.
The two cats began reading their files with interest. All of the sudden, Victoria gasped and looked at Plato, who looked back at Victoria open mouthed. Victoria fainted into her tom, Misto's, arms and Jemima picked up her friends folder. She quickly scanned it and gasped.
"P-Plato!, you're V-Victoria's brother?"

"oh, boy!" said Rumpelteazer "this is so excitin'"
The group of cats had made their way back to the tire and Victoria awoke.
Misto licked her cheek and she nuzzled him back. Jemima, still shocked, nuzzled Plato, who turned to her and smiled.
"This is so strange!" Plato said "I never would have guessed!"
"Same here," Victoria said, "although a memory sticks in my mind that includes a brother...you, actually."
Plato looked curious "can you tell us about it?"
Victoria shrugged. "Why not?" she said.
Vicki closed her eyes and began to think back.......................
*"Plato! Vicki!" their mother called.
The two kittens ran into the room and greeted their mother, Griddlebone.
Griddlebone was a flirtatious, fluffy white cat with a long, ruffly white tail who didn't really care much for her children. Their father, Springer, was a brown and white cat who loved his children dearly, but despised their mother because of her secret (or non-secret) relationship with Macavity, the most evil cat in the world. In fact, their father was in the process of leaving The home.
"What is it mommy?" Victoria asked
"Listen," she began "Mommy has a friend coming over, and i expect you to just keep quiet, got it?"
The two kittens nodded.
"Good." Griddlebone said.
"What friend is it?" Plato asked.
"Macavity." Their mother reponded, simply.
Victoria looked towards her brother, full of fear. Plato responded by nuzzling her to calm her down. Just then. the door opened and Macavity appeared in the home. He kissed their mother's cheek and began to speak
intently with her, as the kittens listened quietly.
"You know, Grid...since you are going to work for me, why don't we start training the kittens, too." Macavity said.
"Hmm...why not?" their mother responded.
Victoria moved close to her brother as Macavity approached them.
Suddenly, Springer ran into the room.
"Get away from my kittens!" he yelled, jumping on Macavity.
The two engaged in a fight, while Griddlebone screamed. Plato grabbed his sister's paw and pulled her out of the home towards the junkyard........*
When Victoria opened her eyes, they were hysterical with tears. Misto went to her and nuzzled her and licked away all her tears. She smiled, and Plato hugged her.
"Wow, Vicki....That memory comes back to me now, too. But you don't have to
be sad anymore...it's over and we're safe." Plato said.
"Thanks Plato," she said
Rumpelteazer spoke up "What a story!" she exclaimed.
Plato laughed and put his arm around Jemima, who snuggled close to him.
They waved goodbye and began to walk away. Then, Plato turned around.
"Hey Misto, Take good care of my sister." he said, smiling.
Misto waved and kissed Victoria lovingly.
